Important Information regarding Covid-19
For in-person patient care our goal is to maintain a safe and effective environment while delivering care. In order to maintain safety for the patient and the therapist we will follow CDC guidelines for determining the best mode of care and CDC guidelines on infection control for Covid-19.
For patients who have recovered from Covid-19 we will use the following guidelines to determine the safest time to initiate treatment:
CDC guidance: Disposition of in-home patients
For home-based services our safety and infection protocols will be as follows:
Screening
Patients will be screened over the telephone or through email using a screening tool for Covid-19. If the patient reports signs and symptoms of Covid-19, been exposed recently to anyone with Covid-19, had a recent test for Covid-19, and/or tested positive for Covid-19, then the session will be cancelled and rescheduled for a later date.
The therapist will complete a screening protocol and if they meet any of the above criteria then the session will be cancelled and rescheduled at a later date.
Masking and other infection control measures
The therapist will wear a mask and face shield. Patients and anyone else present for the session are required to wear a mask. Masks will be provided if the patient or other people present do not have a mask.
Equipment disinfection
All equipment owned by Wright PTW will be disinfected before and after home visit sessions with medical grade disinfectant.
Environment
As much as possible a clinical area will be designated in the home. Treatments in other parts of the home will be avoided if possible. To assess functional mobility the therapist may need to access private areas in the home including the bathroom and bedroom for intermittent periods of time. We will encourage treatment sessions to be conducted in more open areas of the home.
Options for our care delivery during the pandemic include:
Telerehab only
Every session is conducted using telerehab technology that is HIPAA compliant. This option is for patients who can benefit from telerehab, participate safely, and if needed, have a caregiver present to assist.
In-home and telerehab combination
An initial in-home evaluation occurs in a patient’s home and then subsequent visits are conducted via telerehabilitation. On-site visits may be conducted at times for assessing patient progress if this can’t be done via telerehabilitation.
In-home only
Full in-person home visits for patients who can’t participate in telerehabilitation safely or effectively.
